
Kate Hudson is an accomplished actor, most famous for her part as Penny Lane in the Hollywood film Almost Famous which brought her an Academy Award nomination. She was born into a film family, Hudson seemed to be headed to become a star in her early years. Her mother Goldie Hawn was a film actress and her father Bill Hudson is comedian. She was a performer since she was a child and would take any chance to perform on stage. Parents made sure that she had dancing instruction, and she was also trained at the Santa Monica Playhouse as a young girl. In the year 1996, she received an appearance as a guest on the TV drama Party of Five. After being accepted into New York University by Kate Hudson, her goal was to pursue a career in the show business and not earn the degree. After a few minor roles in films, she was offered the role which would become one of her major roles in her career. The role she was chosen for was Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. In spite of being a film that failed at the box office it received positive critiques from critics, and it made a name for Kate as an actor in the American film industry.
