Andrea Elson
Andrea Hope Elson (born in 1961) is a former American actor. Elson's career began as a young actor and model. However, she is famous for her character Alice Tyler in CBS science fiction. Andrea auditioned for the lead role in ALF, the 1986 hit show. She won. The actress continued to appear for many years on various hit TV shows and Movies of the Week before going into the entertainment field to concentrate on her family. Andrea Elson's role as Lynn Tanner, Willie and Kate Tanner's teen daughter was not easy for her. People magazine published a retrospective of her career in the year 2000. Elson said growing up in the spotlight was not an easy task. When she was in New York City in 1969 Elson was raised in a world of travel as her father was a traveling salesman. Prior to turning ten, old, she was living in New York Chicago San Diego as well as Los Angeles. Andrea discovered an agent in San Diego and won her audition for her first part. Fusco supported the show's premise, by saying "ALF is 285 years old, he can drink beer he's old enough. ALF became more and increasingly popular with children, so NBC told Fusco not to drink because kids were watching. He's a poor role model. Fusco was of the opinion that ALF did not have the maturity required to drink and drive, was wrong. In 1995, he was identified with lymphoma. He was successfully treated and was remissioned until 2019. On June 26, 2019 at age 75, he passed away from cancer at the Lillian Booth Actors Home located in Englewood New Jersey.
