April Ross

April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball players who have earned medals multiple times at an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time at the Tokyo Olympics, will try to earn her third medal. Ross also hopes to get her first Olympic medal. Perhaps she has one opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. However, she is convinced of winning top awards. Ross on NBC Boston, said that when the team performs well or at all they can earn a gold. This is also a matter of chance. Ross was born in 1982 and lived in Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started participating in sports at Newport Harbor High school. Her athletic career continued at Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several activities. Being a pre-athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. Although she was a pro in indoor volleyball however, it was evident that her skills were above normal. Through her high school years, she was a middle blocker outside hitter and setter on the volleyball court, according to her college bio. In recognition of her work she was awarded an 1999 Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. Her volleyball skills also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman might be working on a project in 2017, but Ross had already been a seasoned volleyball player before they came together. She has won major tournaments twice with different partners. The other is an icon in the world of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to 2013. Kessy was Ross's co-coach at the 2009 World Championships. This duo went into winning a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team to beat for the gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. Together, they took home bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. After high school and several years prior to hitting the sand as a pro Ross balled out with the Trojans of USC as an collegiate. The time she spent at USC was one to remember. When she was a freshman at the school in 2000 she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA The Freshman of the Year honors and was also an All-American. She was also a key player to help the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. After her sophomore year she was devastated by a personal loss and still was able to be named an All-American. Through her final two seasons with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them to win two consecutive titles. The individual accomplishments of her have established her status as a legend in volleyball. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Unfortunately, Ross mother Margie did not get to see Ross rise to the highest levels of beach volleyball stardom. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She has kept her parent close to the heart. Margie, on the beach as well as in her everyday life, continues to inspire her.
