Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist as well as a businessperson. She's the co-founder and director of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist television host, and proprietor of the independently liberal online newspaper The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she came to England when she was 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. The years that followed the graduation ceremony, she was an important conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political climate. Arianna was able to attract several notable contributors to post their views on culture and politics. Arianna was famous during 2003 when she ran independently in a recall campaign in California to replace the then-Governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted vehicles that are fuel efficient. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in the media, achieving 12th spot on the list. The same year, the Guardian placed her in their top 100 of the media lists. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of the group of media. This was a huge acquisition that included a number of AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant and journalist. She was extremely close to her father, but it is her bond with her mother which shaped her. In her early times, she demonstrated leadership skills for which she remains well-known. When she moved to England, she was sixteen to further her studies as well as enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was part of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female president and only foreign president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic and an anchor on a TV show. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She started writing books after obtaining his assistance for editing.
